Bolton, Vermont has more than twenty mountains at over 2,000 feet, and nearly as many more just under that. It’s an ideal location for skiers and snowboarders, and for hiking on the Long Trail from Camel’s Hump to Mount Mansfield. The only road access is through the neighboring towns of Richmond and Duxbury. The principal transportation artery in the town is US Route 2, which follows the north side of the Winooski. I-89 passes through the town parallel to Route 2 but does not have an interchange there.
