Fall Events in Vermont!
After a spectacular summer here in Vermont, we welcome fall and all that it brings! We’ve been fully enjoying the spectacular foliage over the past few weeks and love seeing the bright mums and pumpkins showing up on front porches and doorsteps.
It is certainly the time of year to grab a sweater and a hot drink and cozy up by the fire – but don’t stay inside just yet. There is still plenty to do around these parts and we’ve gathered them together in this handy list. Grab your family or a friend and enjoy some local fall events in Vermont!
Halloween Inspired Fun
Haunted Happenings at Shelburne Museum
Shelburne Museum, a local gem, opens its doors on Sunday, October 26 for lots of Halloween festivities. Come in costume and ready to trick-or-treat throughout the beautiful grounds and enjoy staff dressed in fantastic costumes. A great time, especially if you have little ones who would like to wear their costumes more than once!
Middlebury Spooktacular
Costumes, games, music, and dancing can be found the town green in Middlebury, VT for this fun afternoon! It takes place on Sunday, October 26 and is fun for all ages. The kids will especially enjoy the highlight of the event, a trick-or-treat parade through the town. More info can be found here.

Wagon Ride Weekends at Billings Farm and Museum
Billings Museum in Woodstock, Vermont offers Wagon Rides each weekend in November! Climb on the farm wagon for a tour of this beautiful and historic working farm.There are also additional daily events and activities. More information can be found on their website http://www.billingsfarm.org

Stock up on your outdoor gear at a fun annual Vermont Event. The Cochran’s Ski Sale is November 8- 9 this year. You can find tons of bargains and get new gear for the whole family while you support this non-profit ski area in Richmond, VT! More info here: http://www.cochranskiarea.com/
We are very lucky to live in an area where many beautiful hiking trails are within a short drive. The foliage may have peaked but as residents we can enjoy a gorgeous hike long after the tourists have left! At this time of year the trails are less crowded, and with fewer leaves you can get some views that are missed in the summer. If you’re looking for a great day hike check out the Green Mountain Club website – greenmountainclub.org – it is packed with information on where to go and how to get there!
The snow will be flying soon enough so gather up your friends, dogs, family, kids in costume, or head out on your own and enjoy some great Fall events in Vermont!
